About The City Clerk

The City Clerk reports directly to the City Council, attends all City Council meetings, prepares Council agendas and minutes and also maintains all Council proceedings. The City clerk is responsible for maintaining Resolutions and Ordinances, and publishes all Public Hearing notices as required by law. The Clerk's office is also responsible for maintaining and updating the City's Municipal Code and retains contracts as a permanent record for the City of Council Bluffs.

The City Clerk's office serves the public in issuing the following licenses and permits: Cigarettes Permits, Liquor/Beer Permits, Special Events, Fairview Cemetery Deeds, Solicitors Permit/Transient Merchant Licenses, Taxi Permits, Salvage/Storage Yard Licenses, Amusement Device/Jukebox Licenses, Pawn Brokers Licenses and Adult Entertainment Licenses.

The City Clerk is also the Civil Service Secretary and responsible for Civil Service testing.
